World Cancer Day 4th February

World Cancer Day held on the 4th of February every year is a truly global event, that unites the worlds population in the fight against cancer. It aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about the disease, pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action.

To raise money Cancer Research UK are selling the ‘Unity Band’. The ‘Unity Band’ represents strength in unity, and is designed to celebrate survival, show solidarity for those in treatment, remember loved ones, and to symbolise our role in reducing the impact of cancer on future generations.

Every ‘Unity Band’ worn, every gesture of support, plays an important part in beating cancer sooner. Cancer is the biggest killer worldwide and thanks to the united support of individuals raising funds the ongoing research can continue in the fight against over 200 cancer types.
